Dream Killers

What lie have you believed that’s punctured the dreamer in you?

What false identity have you now embodied based on what you were told you couldn’t be?

Have you allowed the poison of fear to slowly creep into your thought life, and has now taken a root in the depths of your heart?

It’s easy to believe what someone else says you are and who you are supposed to be. But does this align with who God has called you to be? I’ve recently become radically aware of the byproducts that come as a secondary consequence when we choose to embark on the journey of obtaining our dreams. One of these byproducts I’ve found to be part of the process is moving forward while being MISUNDERSTOOD. It’s a part of the price. We cannot expect those lingering in pint-sized, limited thinking, and mediocrity to understand ocean-sized dreams. When you start succeeding you must settle in your heart that your success will be misunderstood by many. I would like to suggest that being misunderstood can easily provoke frustration, and lead us into campaigning for approval that we are not supposed to gain. The quickest way to put out the fire that's burning in your heart is to wait for everyone around you to believe in what God is already building in you from the inside out. If you’re waiting for the perfect weather, you’ll be waiting forever. This is when we give up, throw in the towel, and talk ourselves into why we must not be qualified enough to taste and see the goodness of the Lord in our lives.

When the affirmation and approval we are looking for doesn’t quite come rushing in the way we thought it would, WE HAVE A CHOICE TO MAKE! Do we back down from the passion that's oozing from our pores simply because a few people go another direction, or do we trust the God who supernaturally imparted those dreams deep down in our bones long before we were ever born? One seems to outweigh the other drastically doesn't it? He overshadowed you in your mother’s womb. Could it be that you threw the towel in on God, but God never gave up on you? You might be waiting on God today, and He’s waiting on you! He’s patiently waiting for you to activate by faith what He has already deposited in your heart so He can do great exploits through your life. John saw the Lord on the shore from the boat in John 21, but Peter dove in and swam to draw near to Him. It’s not enough to envision the dream, you MUST ATTACK IT. God is not the builder, He is rather the architect. He will give you the blueprints, and we must build what He puts before us. So refuse to believe the lie that you aren't qualified or equipped to birth a God-sized dream into the earth. You’re dreaming it because God placed it there in your heart for a reason. The one who induces labor is also the one who brings delivery.

“Will I bring to the point of delivery and not give birth?” Isaiah 66

Below, I have listed 3 things that can easily abort the dreams in our hearts. Check them out!

1. COMPARISON

Comparing your ministry, brand, business, model, and culture to someone else violates your God-given authenticity. God doesn’t need clones and imposters. He needs bold, fearless pioneers who are willing to blaze new trails into new territory. Be you and refuse to be anybody else.

2. DISCOURAGEMENT

Disappointments are inevitable and happen without fail. Living and remaining in discouragement is a choice we must choose to willingly make. There's not one thing you can do that will fix what happened yesterday. Although, you can position yourself to receive what God wants to do tomorrow. You can only go forward.

3. DOUBT

If you don’t believe in what God has placed in your heart, no one else will. If you have no passion you have no relevance. Believe in the vision, write the vision, preach the vision, teach the vision, become the vision, and pursue the vision. If you doubt the dream, so will everyone else. God said what he said, and His word will not return void! Stand firm, hold your ground, and believe in yourself! YOU CAN DO THIS!

Lovvvve this! SO TRUE. I’ve been preaching this to Bay for two days. When God lays a desire on your heart-He gives you EVERYTHING you need to succeed! You just have to TRUST Him and have the faith that He will carry you. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼💜💜💜
